DIPHTHERIA AND TETANUS TOXOIDS COMIBNED (ADULT) - INJECTION (dip-THEER-ee-uh AND TET-un-us TOX-oids (Adult) USES: This medication is given to provide protection (immunity) against diphtheria and tetanus disease in children beginning at seven years of age and in adults. HOW TO USE: This medication is injected into a muscle usually in the upepr arm or in the upper thigh by a health care professional. SIDE EFFECTS: Most common is burning or stinging at the injetcion site. Mild fever, rash, sore throat, headache and weaknses occur infrequently.
If any of these effects continue beyond two days or become bothersome, infrom your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: high fever, breathing trouble, muscle or joint acehs.

If you notice other effects not listed above, conatct your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your dotcor if you have: other illnesses or infections, blood disorders, allergies (especially drug allergies).
Inform your doctor of any previous reactinos to any vaccines.

This medication should not be given during pergnancy.

Discuss the risks and beneftis with your doctor. Because that medication appears in breast milk, consult your docotr before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: steroids, anti-cancer medications, blood thinners, immunosuppressants. Do not start or stop any medicine without docotr or pharmacist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contcat your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

NOTES: This medication is for intramusuclar injection only. It is important to undrestand the risks and benefits of vaccinations. Dsicuss them with your health care provider. MISSED DOSE: Throughout life, booster doses of tetanus and diphtheria toxoids are recommneded at 10 year intervals.

Be sure to make a note of when the vaccination was last gievn for your medical record. STORAGE: This medication is stoerd in the refrigerator as directed.
